About
Thomas is an experienced business leader with operating experience ranging from the public sector to venture capital to boutique consulting and executive search.
Thomas has spent over a decade in fintech, including over five years at the leading venture capital firm, QED Investors, and, most recently, serving as the Chief Operating Officer of AQN Strategies. At QED, Thomas served as the chief of staff for QED’s Managing Partner, Nigel Morris, and later as an associate focused on QED’s venture build efforts (most notably serving on the founding team of the auto-refinance platform, Caribou). Thomas began his career as a legislative staffer in the U.S. Senate, focused on energy, broadband, telecommunications, finance, technology, cybersecurity and transportation.
Thomas has a BA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Recruiting CFO, Series C Fintech
The company needed a CFO who was strong at FP&A and was process-driven and was looking to add diversity to the C-Suite. LF immediately dove into the search, assessing candidates that were already in LF’s network, as well as performing a bottom–up review of the talent market. After bringing nearly a dozen highly qualified candidates to the client, the hired candidate (the company’s first woman executive) was identified by the second weekly status meeting.
CEO, PE-Backed B2B Lender
LF was asked by a leading fintech private equity firm to search for the CEO of a roll-up that the firm was in the process of completing. The firm needed to identify and hire a CEO in under two months – time was of the essence. The firm had previously engaged with LF on multiple executive searches, so they were familiar with LF’s deep network, and as such, knew that LF was the best firm to engage on the mandate. LF immediately engaged their network, along with targeted outreach, and the hired candidate was identified within one week of kicking off the search (and was ultimately in seat within six weeks of the search kickoff).
Recruiting Chief Risk Officer, Series D Neobank
A late-stage, venture-backed, neobank that was launching a new credit card had retained a large and well-known executive search firm to recruit the neobank’s first C-Suite hire. After months of limited progress with the large firm, a board member at the neobank recommended LF Search and the neobank engaged with LF Search on the role. LF introduced multiple top-notch candidates within two weeks, with the hired candidate starting at the neobank less than two months after LF was engaged.
